Caroline Hickman

Caroline Hickman is a Lecturer in the Department of Social & Policy Sciences at the University of Bath. She is also a registered PhD student in the Department of Education at the University of Bath, focusing on children's relationships with nature and climate crisis psychology.

Caroline specializes in climate change psychology, eco-anxiety in children and young people, and the intersection of psychotherapy with climate crisis responses. Her work emphasizes the emotional and cultural dimensions of climate denial, grief, and resilience-building.

Her recent publications (2024) explore therapeutic strategies for eco-anxiety, climate crisis communication, and psychological resilience frameworks. Earlier research (2022) includes a global dataset on youth climate anxiety and policy beliefs.
