Dr Caroline Gonda is a Lecturer in the Faculty of English and a Fellow at St Catharine's College, University of Cambridge. She has been affiliated with the institution since 1996, serving as Director of Studies in English and contributing to interdisciplinary teaching in Gender Studies.
Her research focuses on eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century prose fiction, feminism and gender, history of sexuality, and lesbian literature. She explores topics such as sensibility, domestic fiction, and queer reception theory through both academic and creative writing.
Recent publications include interdisciplinary analyses of Anne Lister’s archives, queer interpretations of historical art, and flash fiction works addressing memory and identity. Her creative writing intersects with academic scholarship, particularly in exploring lesbian narratives and cultural memory.
Dr Gonda contributes to graduate supervision for the MPhil in English Studies and the interdisciplinary MPhil in Gender Studies. She has co-edited anthologies on queer topics and published extensively in journals like Eighteenth-Century Fiction and Journal of Lesbian Studies.
