Caroline Frau

Caroline Frau is a Lecturer in Political Science at Lumière Lyon-2 University and a member of the Triangle Laboratory since 2014. She holds a Doctorate in Political Science from the University of Paris 1, with her thesis focusing on the political sociology of tobacconists' professional groups. Her research interests include the sociology of professions, trade unionism, labor disputes, public health policy, and the role of intermediate actors in public action. She has co-organized numerous academic events, including seminars on public action and political sociology, and contributed to research projects like the ANR Mondex and the French employer space studies.

Her work explores the intersections of professional groups with state policies, analyzing how actors navigate regulatory frameworks. Key publications include studies on family dynamics in small business leadership, anti-tax mobilizations, and the marginalized roles in public action. Frau has also co-edited volumes on professionalization and state interactions, and her contributions span academic journals in political science and sociology.

Awards include her doctoral thesis' highest honors and proposed prizes. Her research bridges empirical studies with theoretical frameworks in political sociology, emphasizing practical and policy-relevant insights.
