Dr. Caroline Franco is a Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen, affiliated with the Institute of Applied Health Sciences (IAHS) within the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition. She holds a PhD in Physics from Sao Paulo State University and has expertise in mathematical modelling for global health.

- MSc and BSc in Physics from Sao Carlos Institute of Physics - University of Sao Paulo
Her research focuses on simulating infectious disease dynamics using mathematical models to inform health policy, particularly in equitable access to health data science. She has contributed to projects with the World Health Organization, The Global Fund, and the UK Health Security Agency during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her recent publications highlight trends in environmental climate reconstruction, epidemiological studies on dengue and SARS-CoV-2, and vaccination strategy optimization. These span disciplines like Environmental Science, Public Health, and Applied Mathematics.
