Carolien van Houdt

Carolien van Houdt is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences, Department of Clinical Neuropsychology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She also holds an appointment at IBBA. Her research focuses on developmental neuropsychology with emphasis on executive functions in very preterm children. She holds a PhD from Academic Medical Center (2020), Master's in Neuroscience and Cognition from Utrecht University (2015), and Bachelor's in Psychology from Utrecht University (2012).

Her work investigates neurodevelopmental outcomes in preterm infants, including executive function training interventions, behavioral subtyping in school-age children, and predictive models of developmental tasks. She is involved in the PLLONS research project addressing neuropsychological support for students and teachers. She teaches courses in forensic neuropsychology and measurement theory.
