Dr. Carolien Lunenborg is a Lecturer and coordinator at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences, specializing in Orthopedagogy & Clinical Educational Science. She earned her PhD in 2009 with research on supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviors. Her career includes roles as a lecturer (2010–2014), coordinator of the Universitair Ambulatorium Groningen (2014–2021), and current positions as Education Coordinator for Orthopedagogiek and Project Coordinator for the Expertisecentrum Gezinnen met Meervoudige en Complexe Problemen (GMCP).
Her research focuses on intellectual disabilities, challenging behaviors, motor impairments in children, and family support systems. Key projects include evaluating interventions for children with motor disabilities and analyzing regional support strategies for individuals with disabilities. She has published peer-reviewed articles on behavioral interventions, clinical assessments, and healthcare effectiveness in this domain.
