Carol Palmer

Carol Palmer is a Research Fellow at Charles Darwin University's Faculty of Science and Technology, affiliated with the Research Institute for Environment and Livelihoods. She specializes in marine conservation biology, focusing on marine mammals like dolphins and false killer whales, and their ecological interactions in coastal and marine environments. She is actively involved in supervising postgraduate research and has led projects such as 'Developing capacity and partnerships for the Garngi Rangers to lead marine megafauna monitoring.'

Her project 'Developing capacity for Garngi Rangers' (2024–2026) focuses on empowering Indigenous communities in marine megafauna monitoring within the Arafura Marine Park.
