Carol Cirulli Lanham is a Teaching Professor of Sociology and Assistant Dean of Outreach and Engagement at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences (EPPS). She also serves as the Associate Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning and Fellow of the UT System Academy of Distinguished Teachers. Her expertise lies in Virtual Exchange (VE), online pedagogy, and sociological education.
Education:

- Master of Science in Applied Sociology (UTD)
- PhD in Public Policy and Political Economy (UTD)
Research & Teaching Focus: Lanham pioneers Virtual Exchange programs to expand global learning access. She designs courses like SOC 1306: French Society (Paris/Toulouse), SOC 3321: Deviance, and SOC 4396: Sociology of Religion (Vatican fieldwork). Her work integrates community-engaged learning, such as mentoring homeless teens at South Oak Cliff High School.

Grants & Leadership: Co-led a UT System Curricular Innovation grant ($5,000) to advance VE. Served as Distance Education Coordinator (2012–2022) and chaired UTD’s Distance Learning Committee. As a Fulbright Specialist (2021–2025), she will collaborate with Deakin University on virtual learning initiatives.
Labs/Teams: Active in the Center for Teaching and Learning, leading initiatives in online instruction and global pedagogy.
