Carol Chunfeng Wang

Dr. Carol Chunfeng Wang is a Senior Lecturer and ERA Researcher at the University of Notre Dame Australia (UNDA), School of Nursing, Midwifery, Health Sciences & Physiotherapy. She is a registered nurse and licensed acupuncturist with 28 years of clinical experience across China, Singapore, and Australia. Dr. Wang leads the Holistic Health Research Clinic and a multicenter program on Tai Chi: Body & Mind Medicine, focusing on non-pharmacological therapies for chronic disease, mental health, and cancer care.

Her research interests include integrative medicine, chronic disease management, cancer symptom control, mental wellbeing, and holistic nursing. She employs evidence-based modalities such as Tai Chi, acupuncture, moxibustion, acupressure, and laser therapy to improve health outcomes. Her work emphasizes community-engaged, sustainable, and self-manageable interventions for chronic pain, depression, insomnia, and diabetes.

Dr. Wang's recent publications reflect a strong trend toward systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and clinical trial protocols in complementary and integrative therapies. Her research spans non-pharmacological pain relief, sleep disorders in cancer, prediabetes management, and mental health in nurses, demonstrating methodological rigor and translational impact.

Dr. Wang actively supervises HDR students and has secured over AUD$2 million in research funding as Principal Investigator. Her projects include multicenter trials on acupuncture for depression in men, moxibustion for chronic pain and dysmenorrhea, and laser acupuncture for frozen shoulder. She collaborates internationally with researchers in Australia, China, Singapore, the USA, and the UK. She leads a multidisciplinary team conducting clinical trials and has contributed to national and international clinical guidelines in acupuncture and integrative care.

She is actively involved in professional development and dissemination through keynote addresses at conferences such as WACSA, CNSA, and ICIN, and serves on multiple editorial boards and ethics committees.
