Carol Brazo serves as a Professor of Education in the School of Education at George Fox University, a position she has held since 2002. Her academic preparation includes a BA in History from California Baptist University (1980), an MEd in Education from George Fox University (2001), and an EdD from George Fox University (2006).
Dr. Brazo's research centers on adolescent literacy development and internationalizing teacher education through transformative cultural immersion. Her decade-long work in Quito, Ecuador examines how overseas teaching experiences reshape teacher candidates' strategies and mindsets, with specific focus on debriefing circles for self-reflection, critical pedagogy implementation, and diversity attitude formation. She uniquely integrates spiritual development with educational theory across all her scholarly work.
