Carol-Anne Duthie is Professor and leader of SRUC's Beef and Sheep Research Centre, with 15+ years in ruminant productivity research. Educated at University of Edinburgh (PhD) and University of Aberdeen (MSc). Leads multidisciplinary projects on sustainable livestock systems.
Research: Focuses on improving feed efficiency, reducing methane emissions through precision farming technologies, and optimizing meat quality. Current projects include OPTI-BEEF (precision monitoring) and methane reduction initiatives.
Leadership: Serves on BSAS Awards Committee, KTN Animal Sector Advisory Board, and as Scottish Accreditation Board director. Teaches undergraduate agriculture and animal science courses.
