Carmen Visconte

Carmen Visconte is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (DIMEAS) at the Polytechnic University of Turin, where she is actively involved in robotics and fluid dynamics research. She is a member of the Interdepartmental Center for Service Robotics (PIC4SeR) and supervises PhD students in Mechanical Engineering and Robotics and Intelligent Machines programs at both Polytechnic University of Turin and the University of Genoa.

Her recent publications span both robotics and fluid mechanics, with a strong emphasis on service robotics for precision agriculture, wearable exoskeletons, omnidirectional mobility systems, and microscale fluid mixing. The research demonstrates a dual focus: advancing industrial and agricultural robotics, and optimizing fluidic systems for engineering applications.

Scientific Projects:

• eXoft – Scientific Director of a PRIN-funded project on innovative soft-rigid exoskeletons for smart factories (2023–2025).
• TWIN-IT-ROMANS – Member of the research group in a Horizon Europe project on robotics manufacturing systems (2024–2027).

Advising and Teaching:
Carmen Visconte supervises multiple PhD students including Lorenzo Toccaceli, Simone Duretto, Lorenzo Baglieri, and Luigi Tagliavini. She is a course owner for Mechanics for Agriculture and collaborator for Mechanical System Dynamics in the Mechanical Engineering program. She also participates in degree program committees across Mechanical, Aerospace, and Energy Engineering.

Laboratory and Research Groups:
She is a core member of the Automation and Robotics research group at DIMEAS and contributes to the PIC4SeR center, focusing on applied robotics for service applications such as agricultural automation and assistive devices.
