Carmen Torres Bares

Carmen Torres Bares serves as a Professor of Psychobiology within the Department of Psychology at the University of Jaén.

Her research centers on emotional responses to incentive loss (frustration), investigating behavioral, pharmacological, neuroanatomical, genetic, and molecular mechanisms. This work is conducted through the Comparative Psychology: Learning, Attention and Memory research group, emphasizing cross-species analysis of cognitive-emotional interactions.

Professor Torres Bares has supervised six doctoral students and led six research projects as principal investigator. Her scholarly output exceeds 75 publications spanning empirical studies and theoretical reviews in psychobiological emotion research.
