Carmen Nussbaum

Prof. Dr. Carmen Nussbaum is a Professor in the Department of Neuroanatomy at the Faculty of Medicine, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU). She leads the Nussbaum Lab, dedicated to understanding neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.

Her research focuses on:

• Cellular and molecular mechanisms of aging and neurodegeneration
• Intercellular spreading of pathological proteins (e.g., alpha-synuclein, Tau)
• Lysosomal integrity during aging
• Chaperone-mediated disaggregation of protein aggregates
