Carmen Loschke is a Researcher at the Öko-Institut e.V. since 2024, focusing on Energy & Climate Protection. Previously, she served as a Scientific Assistant (2023-2024) at the same institute. She holds an M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg and Universidade de Lisboa (2023), and a B.Sc. in Landscape Ecology from the University of Münster and San José State University (2016). Her expertise spans NLP-driven text analysis, quantitative energy transition research, and data visualization.
Current projects include transparent municipal heat planning (KOMpare project), regulatory frameworks for energy-efficient public buildings, and hydrogen sustainability in Global South countries. She contributes to policy guides integrating AI with energy efficiency strategies and analyzes fossil gas phase-out scenarios in Europe.
Her work emphasizes transdisciplinary approaches, blending technical analysis with social and governance dimensions of climate action. Projects like the participatory Wärmewende dashboard aim to visualize regional impacts of energy transitions. Collaborations include EU policy studies and international energy partnerships.
