Dr. Carmen Koch is a Lecturer and Coordinator for Research & Development at the ZHAW School of Applied Linguistics, Institute of Applied Media Studies. Her roles include project management in research and consulting, focusing on Media Literacy and digital communication challenges. She leads initiatives like the Media Literacy Network and has coordinated projects such as Next Gen Volunteers and School Communication with Foreign-Language Parents.

Her research interests span Media Literacy, Religious Representation in Media, Science Communication, and Digitalization in Education. Key studies include analyzing digital performance among university staff, media narratives about religious communities, and farmer adoption of sustainable practices in Africa. She has also explored the impact of smartphone diaries in media consumption research and communication strategies for energy-efficient building management.
