معرفی
Carly Stevens is a Professor in Plant Ecology and Soil Biogeochemistry at Lancaster University's Lancaster Environment Centre. Her research focuses on global change impacts, particularly nitrogen deposition effects on ecosystems and limestone pavement conservation. She supervises six postgraduate students and collaborates with global networks like the Nutrient Network (NutNet).
Affiliations include the Limestone Pavements Partnership, Sustainable Catchments, and the Ecological Continuity Trust. She leads the Waitrose Collaborative Training Partnership and chairs the University Promotions Committee.
Research interests span plant-soil interactions, ecosystem responses to global change, and conservation management. Key projects include NERC-funded studies on limestone pavement conservation and soil health in circular economies.
Teaching involves field-based courses on vegetation survey techniques and ecology for undergraduates. Funding comes from NERC, DEFRA, JNCC, and the Leverhulme Trust.
Her 160+ peer-reviewed papers include landmark studies in Science and Nature, highlighting nitrogen deposition's biodiversity impacts. Current work explores soil health, grassland productivity, and climate-nutrient interactions across continents.
