Carly Rose Miller serves as an Instructor of Practice (Adj) and Assistant Director of Nurse Practitioner and Post-Masters Doctor of Nursing Practice Programs at Oakland University's School of Nursing. As a full-time visiting faculty member, she teaches in undergraduate BSN/ASD tracks and graduate FNP/AGNP programs while maintaining clinical practice as a Nurse Practitioner within the Department of Athletic Performance, where she established an in-house clinic providing primary care for student-athletes.
Her educational background includes:
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Oakland University
- Master of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN-FNP) from Oakland University
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Michigan State University
Dr. Miller's clinical expertise spans primary care, internal medicine, sports medicine, orthopedics, pediatric nursing, and critical care. Her teaching integrates real-world applications from athletic performance settings, emphasizing evidence-based interventions for diverse patient populations including student-athletes.
Her scholarly work demonstrates interdisciplinary connections between nursing and psychology, particularly in pain management research examining gender, self-efficacy, and socialization influences across the lifespan. This focus reflects her commitment to holistic patient care approaches.
Dr. Miller actively contributes to professional organizations including the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
