Carlotta Sorba is a Part-Time Professor at the Department of History, European University Institute (EUI), and Professor of Modern History at the University of Padua's Department of Historical and Geographical Sciences and the Ancient World. Her research bridges cultural production, societal dynamics, and political history in 19th-century Europe.

Sorba supervises doctoral students such as Daniele Cal, Emma Schwak, and Solveig Vanniez-Salvesen, while also serving as a second reader for Antonello Mori, Cynthia Sadler, and others. She leads a collaborative project analyzing political objects in Risorgimento Italy to trace material intersections of politics and culture. Her current work on actress Adelaide Ristori examines early manifestations of global celebrity culture. Fluent in Italian, French, and English, her office is located at Villa Salviati- Castle, SACA103 (EUI).
