معرفی
Carlos T Moraes is a Professor of Neurology and Cell Biology & Anatomy at the Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami. His lab investigates mitochondrial defects in metabolic and neurodegenerative diseases, focusing on pathogenic mechanisms and therapeutic approaches.
- Established since 1993
- Research spans mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and nuclear DNA mutations
- Developing genetic therapies for mitochondrial disorders
- Studying mitochondrial function in aging
Research Interests: Molecular basis of mitochondrial disorders, oxidative phosphorylation defects, neurodegenerative disease models, and pharmacological/genetic treatments for mitochondrial dysfunction.
Recent publications focus on mitochondrial genome editing tools, NEK10 kinase effects, and targeted restoration of neuronal energy metabolism. These works span molecular biology, genetics, and neuroscience disciplines.
