Carlos Ochoa is a Researcher affiliated with the Institute of Global Health at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He holds a PhD in Global Health (2022) and has worked extensively in projects such as SNAKE-BYTE and AccessMod. His academic background includes a Master’s in Biostatistics (University of Zurich, 2015), a Bachelor’s with Honours in Ecology and Biodiversity (Victoria University of Wellington, 2004), and a Bachelor’s in Biology (University of Antioquia, Colombia, 2000).
His research focuses on snakebite epidemiology, geospatial analysis, and One Health approaches to assess health risks and healthcare accessibility in regions like Nepal and Cameroon. Key projects include high-resolution geospatial studies on snakebite vulnerability and cross-sectional analyses of disease burden in human and animal populations. He combines biostatistical methods with environmental and socioeconomic data to address global health challenges.
