Carlos Colosqui is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stony Brook University. He joined the faculty in 2013 and is also affiliated with the Department of Applied Mathematics & Statistics and the DOE-EFRC Center for Mesoscale Transport Properties. His research focuses on mesoscale thermo-fluid dynamics, including computational modeling, experimental analysis, and micro/nanofabrication of nano/microscale systems. Current projects involve microfluidic devices for energy conversion, nanoparticle transport at interfaces, and nanostructured surfaces. He holds a Ph.D. from Boston University (2009) and has extensive collaborations with national labs and industry.

Research interests span mesoscale interfacial phenomena, nanofluidics, and energy applications. His group employs molecular dynamics, mesoscale simulations, and experimental techniques like synchrotron-based x-ray scattering. Recent work explores wetting hysteresis control via nanostructured surfaces and nanoparticle behavior at fluid interfaces.
Collaborations include the Joint Photon Sciences Institute and the Institute of Energy at SBU. He advises four Ph.D. students and oversees lab activities in the Mesoscale Thermo-Fluid Dynamics Group.
