Carlos Alberto Torres-Vitolas

Carlos Alberto Torres-Vitolas is an Honorary Research Associate at the School of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London. He has been affiliated with the institution since 2017, conducting mixed-methods research on socio-cultural determinants of health in Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly focusing on schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminths. His work spans public health, anthropology, and policy analysis.

His research expertise includes designing health and demographic surveys (e.g., DHS, MICS), participatory methodologies, and creative approaches like children’s drawings. He has worked in Malawi, Madagascar, Niger, Peruvian and Colombian Amazon regions. He also contributes to global health education at Imperial as an occasional lecturer and undergraduate tutor.
