Carla Feistner

Carla Feistner serves as Professor in the Professorship for Applied Geology and Modeling of Environmental Systems at GeoCenter Nordbayern (GeoZentrum Nordbayern), an integral research hub of Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) in Germany. Based at Schlossgarten 5, 91054 Erlangen, she operates within FAU's earth sciences framework, contributing to interdisciplinary geoscientific research and education across the Nuremberg metropolitan region.

Her research centers on Applied Geology and Environmental Systems Modeling, with emphasis on subsurface processes, contaminant hydrogeology, and sustainable resource management. She integrates field-based geological investigations with computational modeling to simulate environmental system behaviors under anthropogenic and natural stresses, advancing predictive capabilities in groundwater dynamics and environmental remediation.

As part of GeoCenter Nordbayern's collaborative ecosystem, Professor Feistner engages in cross-disciplinary initiatives addressing water security, energy transition, and environmental protection challenges in Bavaria.
