معرفی
Carl W. Baum is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clemson University's College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences. His work spans communications theory, coding theory, and detection/estimation theory.
- Ph.D., 1992 - University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
- M.S., 1989 - University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
- B.S., 1987 - UCLA
His research focuses on receiver design for coded wireless spread-spectrum communication systems, channel-sharing algorithms for wireless ad-hoc networks, and sequential multihypothesis tests in decision theory. Current projects include mobility modeling in communication networks, spectrum sharing protocols, and hardware/software co-design in software radio systems.
- Recipient of IEEE Browder J. Thompson Award (1996)
- McQueen Quattlebaum Faculty Achievement Award (1998)
- Robert Chien Memorial Award for research excellence
Dr. Baum teaches systems theory, communications theory, and probability courses, employing innovative methods in his undergraduate systems and signals course.
