Dr. Carl Lejuez is a Professor at the University of Maryland, where he joined the Clinical Psychology Program in 2001 and was promoted to Professor in 2008. He serves as the Director of the Center for Addictions, Personality and Emotion Research (CAPER) and holds leadership roles in addiction research and training.

Dr. Lejuez's research focuses on translational approaches to understanding addictions, personality pathology, and mood disorders, emphasizing common processes across these conditions. He leads the NIDA T32 institutional training grant at the University of Maryland and is the Founding Editor of the APA journal Personality Disorders: Theory, Research, and Treatment. As founder of the CAPER Center, his lab integrates interdisciplinary teams to advance behavioral science research.
