Carl-Henrik Adolfsson is an Associate Professor in Pedagogy at Linnaeus University's Faculty of Social Sciences, where he researches curriculum theory, educational reforms, and school improvement. His work bridges research and practice, collaborating with municipalities and schools across Sweden to enhance educational governance. Adolfsson co-leads the research group Studies in Curriculum, Teaching and Evaluation (SITE) and contributes to the Centrum för pedagogisk ledning (Centre for Educational Leadership).
His research explores two core areas: (1) historical and societal dimensions of educational reforms and curricula, and (2) the interplay between research and school practice. He employs methods like policy analysis, longitudinal case studies, and systemic evaluations to address issues such as local governance, quality management, and large-scale school improvement in Sweden.
Adolfsson's recent publications (2018–2024) focus on systemic changes in education, analyzing organizational routines, policy landscapes, and data-driven school development. Trends include critical examinations of Swedish educational reforms, decentralization tensions, and frameworks for building institutional capacity. His work emphasizes empirical exploration and theoretical innovation in education policy.
