Carl Diver

Carl Diver is a Professor of Innovative Manufacturing and Director of PrintCity at Manchester Metropolitan University (ManchesterMet). He leads the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing theme within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. With over 12 years' industrial experience in automotive manufacturing, his research focuses on additive manufacturing, Industry 4.0 integration, and digital connectivity solutions. He co-leads the £4M Centre for Digital Innovation, supporting SMEs in adopting Additive Manufacturing, and directs the PrintCity facility—a world-class 3D printing hub with 70+ printers across 7 technologies.

Education: Holds BEng, MSc, and PhD degrees. His academic background bridges engineering and advanced manufacturing systems.

Research Interests: Specializes in additive manufacturing applications, advanced materials development, and industry-academia collaboration. Notable projects include the £3.2M ERDF-funded PrintCity Network and the Siemens-Festo Connected Curriculum program enhancing industrial partnerships.

Professional Roles: Serves on Gambica's Board of Directors and chairs its University Industry Council. Joined All3DP's advisory board in 2023.
