Canan Atalay Aktuğ

Prof. Canan Atalay Aktuğ has been a faculty member at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University's Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting since 2011. She previously served as Associate Professor (2007-2011), Assistant Professor (2001-2004), and Research Assistant (1993-2001) in ceramics-related positions.

Her research focuses on intersections between painting and ceramics, exploring spatial representation, domestic symbolism, and surface organization. With 24 solo exhibitions internationally, her work appears in major museums and collections.

Scientific achievements include:

• 2015 & 2008 - 'Övgüye Değer' Sanatçı Ödülü
• 1990 - İhsan Doğramacı Üstün Başarı Ödülü
• Multiple national painting competition awards (1991-1993)

As academic leader, she has served as Head of Painting Department (2011-2017), Vice Dean (2008-2009), and Senate Member since 2013.
