Dr. Camille Coffie serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Physics at Spelman College, where she recently returned as a full-time faculty member after earning her Ph.D. A native of Dallas' Oak Cliff neighborhood, she brings firsthand experience overcoming adversity to her academic work.

Dr. Coffie's research centers on creating equitable physics learning environments for marginalized communities, particularly focusing on Black women and individuals with disabilities. Through her active roles in the AAPT Early Career Task Force, AAPT DEI Council, American Physical Society, and National Society of Black Physicists, she drives systemic change in physics education culture and accessibility. Her work bridges classroom practice with national advocacy to transform STEM participation.
