Camilla Lindholm is a Professor at the Department of Finno-Ugric and Nordic Studies, Faculty of Humanities, University of Helsinki. She supervises doctoral students in both the Social Sciences and Linguistics doctoral programs.
Her research focuses on
- Linguistics (specifically plain language and language activism)
- Social interaction mechanisms
- Mental health communication
- Digital governance impacts on institutional trust
- Language policy in public sectors
Recent publications examine algorithmic decision-making's impact on citizen-state relationships, plain language as social inclusion tool, and interdisciplinary linguistic approaches to mental health support. Her 2025 projects include Klaara-network (Baltic literature and integration) and continued work on spoken language research networks.
