Cameron D. Jones is a Lecturer in the History Department at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts. His research focuses on Latin American History, particularly the history of Afro-descendants in California, Borderlands History, and Indigenous resistance in colonial contexts. Jones holds a Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. from The Ohio State University and Brigham Young University, respectively, with additional credentials in California secondary education.
His academic contributions include edited volumes and monographs on colonial Spanish America, including At the Heart of the Borderlands (2023) and In Service of Two Masters (2018). His work bridges colonial governance, ethnic studies, and transnational histories.
