Dr. Callum Parker is a Lecturer in Interaction Design at the University of Sydney’s School of Architecture, Design and Planning. His research focuses on designing interactive urban interfaces to enhance urban dwellers’ experiences through smart city technologies like AR/VR, robotics, and public displays. He holds a PhD from the University of Sydney (Design Lab) and a Bachelor of Computing from the University of Tasmania.
His work spans projects such as Urban Interfaces Lab, exploring technologies to improve community engagement and urban resilience. Notable grants include 'Advancing Crisis Resilience in Southeast Asia' (2024) and 'Shared-space interactions between people and autonomous vehicles' (2022). He teaches courses like Designing for Virtual Reality and Interactive Product Design.
Research interests include autonomous vehicle-pedestrian interaction, inclusive metaverse design, and scalable AR solutions. His projects like Pop-spot and AR Tree Trimming Awareness Game demonstrate applied HCI in public spaces.
