Calli Johnson

Calli Johnson serves as the Dive Safety Officer (DSO) and Instructor of Scientific Diving at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), based at the Vester Field Station. She oversees research dive operations adhering to standards set by the American Academy of Underwater Sciences. As an instructor, she teaches the Scientific Diving course (BSC4473C), training divers in safety protocols and underwater documentation skills.

Education: She holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida.

Research Interests: Johnson specializes in scientific diving techniques, underwater research methodologies, and the application of scuba diving in marine studies. Her work emphasizes safety protocols and practical skills for field research.

Labs/Teams: She collaborates with Dr. Michael Parsons' lab and supports FGCU's scientific diving initiatives through the Vester Field Station.
