Caitlin Bentley is a Senior Lecturer in AI Education at King's College London's Department of Informatics within the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences. She leads initiatives in responsible AI education and participates in UKRI programs such as the Safe and Trusted AI Centre for Doctoral Training and the Responsible Artificial Intelligence UK (RAI UK) programme. Her work bridges academia, policy, and industry through collaborations like the UKRI Trustworthy Autonomous Hub and MASSPeople.
Education: PhD in Human Geography & ICT4D (Royal Holloway, University of London), MA in Educational Technology (Concordia University), BA in Computer Science (McGill University). Global experience includes roles in Canada, the UK, Africa, and Asia-Pacific.
Research focuses on ethical AI, participatory design, AI for social good, and equitable technology integration. Key projects include £5m UKRI funding for trustworthy AI research and leadership in transdisciplinary AI policy frameworks. She co-authored the 'Framework for Responsible AI Education' and explores intersectional approaches to data science.
Grants & Funding: £400k from AI Security Institute (2025), £5m UKRI award (2023). Active in curriculum development for autonomous systems safety and sustainability. Leads the Trusted Autonomous Systems Hub and collaborates with global partners on equitable AI policy.
