Caitie Kroeger is a marine ecologist currently affiliated with Moss Landing Marine Laboratories (MLML) and the Farallon Institute. She earned her Ph.D. in Ocean Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz, focusing on sub-Antarctic albatross ecophysiology. Her research explores how oceanic and climatological factors influence marine vertebrate energy balances, movement patterns, and distributions.
- Education:
- Ph.D. in Ocean Science, University of California Santa Cruz
At MLML, she contributes to an NSF-funded project studying Emperor Penguin habitat use through statistical modeling and programming. Her work spans seabird ecology, plankton community structures, and marine mesoscale eddy impacts.
- Key Scientific Awards:
- NSF-funded project on Emperor Penguin physiological and behavioral ecology
Caitie co-founded a science communication group during her Ph.D. and employs spatial-temporal models for ecological risk assessments. Her expertise bridges marine climate dynamics and data-driven ecological analysis.
