Cabeiri deBergh Robinson is an Associate Professor at the Jackson School of International Studies, University of Washington, with affiliations in Comparative Religions and South Asian Studies. She holds adjunct roles in Anthropology and the Interdisciplinary Near and Middle East Program. Her research focuses on Political Islam, Refugee Studies, and Political Violence in South and Central Asia.
- PhD in Socio-Cultural Anthropology (Cornell, 2005)
- MA in Socio-Cultural Anthropology (Cornell, 1999)
- Bachelor’s in Middle Eastern/South Asian Languages & Cultures (Columbia, 1993)
Her work examines intersections of religion, conflict, and state policies, particularly in Kashmir. Recent publications explore refugee agency in jihadist movements and postcolonial state-making. She teaches courses on Political Islam, Humanitarianism, and Middle East Studies.
Currently not accepting new MA/PhD students for 2025-2026.
