CHONG Foong-Fong Mary

Dr. CHONG Foong-Fong Mary is an Associate Professor at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore (NUS), and a Principal Investigator at the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences (A*STAR). She serves as Assistant Dean (Education) and Programme Director for the Master of Public Health (MPH) Programme. Her research focuses on maternal and child nutrition, lifestyle interventions, and behavioral determinants of health.

She holds a PhD from the University of Oxford and a BSc (Hons) in Dietetics from Leeds Metropolitan University. Her career spans clinical dietetics, postdoctoral research, and academic leadership.

Research interests include diet-lifestyle interactions in children and adults, preconception nutrition studies (SPRESTO, NiPPeR), and school-based health promotion (PEDAL study). She leads the Nutrition team in the GUSTO cohort study tracking mother-offspring health outcomes.

Key achievements include over 180 peer-reviewed publications, the Nutrition Society Silver Medal (2019), and advisory roles with the Ministry of Social and Family Development and Ministry of Education. Her team developed the MEDAL web tool for assessing children's diet and lifestyle.

Professional activities include editorial board membership for the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity, and representation in regional health organizations like SEAMEO-RECFON.
