Chiara Meneghetti is an Associate Professor in the Department of General Psychology at the University of Padova. Her research focuses on spatial cognition, environmental psychology, and the interplay between soft skills, cognitive abilities, and pro-environmental behaviors. She explores topics such as spatial learning, gender differences in navigation, and the impact of technology (e.g., GPS) on environmental knowledge.
Her work also examines the role of social-emotional skills in academic and career adaptability, particularly in adolescents and individuals with learning disabilities. She has contributed to developing inventories like the BESSI-I for assessing behavioral skills and has investigated the effects of horticultural activities on cognitive functioning in people with dementia.
Key areas of research include spatial memory, wayfinding strategies, and the relationship between personality traits and navigation abilities. She has published extensively on aging-related cognitive changes and the influence of spatial self-efficacy across the lifespan.
Her research integrates experimental psychology with real-world applications, addressing both theoretical and applied questions in cognitive and environmental psychology.
