CEM ERGÜN

Asst. Prof. Dr. CEM ERGÜN is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Engineering at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering. He holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from EMU (2004), an MS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (1998), and a BS in the same field (1996), all from EMU. His research focuses on machine learning, computer vision, and data security, with notable work in natural language processing frameworks like BERT-based question answering systems, image restoration techniques, and steganography methods.

He has supervised multiple theses, including ongoing PhD research on Turkish question answering systems and master's projects on topics such as statistical feature selection in text categorization, median filter-based image restoration, and fragile digital watermarking techniques.
