CAROLINA ACUÑA ALONSO

Carolina Acuña Alonso is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Engineering at the School of Forestry Engineering, University of Vigo (Pontevedra Campus). Her research focuses on hydro-forest systems, geomodeling, and environmental governance. She completed her doctorate in 2023 with the thesis "River ecosystem assessment: Towards water security and environmental governance" under the supervision of Dr. Simone Varandas and Dr. Xana Alvarez Bermúdez.

As a member of the Hydro-Forest research group, she contributes to interdisciplinary studies at the intersection of forestry and hydrological sciences. Her work emphasizes sustainable management of agroforestry systems and modeling environmental processes.
