Prof. Dr. Candan Demiröz Abakay is an academician affiliated with the Department of Radiation Oncology at Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine. Currently working as a part-time faculty member at Bursa Medicana Hospital since February 2020, they hold the academic rank of Associate Professor after passing the associate professor exam in March 2017.
- Graduated from Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine in 1999.
- Completed specialization in Radiation Oncology at Uludağ University in 2004.
- Received Brachytherapy training at Çapa Faculty of Medicine in 2005.
- Undertook a clinical fellowship at the University of Michigan Department of Radiation Oncology (2009–2010).
Research interests include radiation oncology, cancer treatment, radiotherapy techniques, head and neck cancers, and brachytherapy. Their work spans clinical medicine and health sciences, with a focus on advancing therapeutic protocols.
Scientific achievements include earning the Turkish Radiation Oncology Association Board Certificate in 2015. They have served as Head of the Radiation Oncology Department (2019–2020) and contributed to medical education accreditation processes.
