Professor C. Benjie Louis is a faculty member at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where she serves as Professor of Academic Support and Bar Preparation. She has a significant background in clinical legal education and has directed the Disaster Recovery Law Clinic, providing legal aid to individuals affected by Superstorm Sandy and other hurricanes.
Her research and teaching focus on clinical pedagogy and affordable housing law. She has contributed to the advancement of clinical legal education through presentations and publications, emphasizing innovative teaching methods and the transition from legal practice to academia.
The recent publications reflect a strong commitment to experiential learning, fact investigation techniques, and pedagogical development in legal education, particularly within clinical settings.
Professor Louis is actively involved in national legal education organizations:
