C. Alberto Figueroa is the Edward B. Diethrich Professor of Surgery and Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan. His primary affiliation is with the College of Engineering, where he leads the Computational Vascular Biomechanics Lab. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University (2006).
Research interests focus on computational modeling of vascular systems, including hemodynamics, biomechanics, and medical imaging analysis. His work integrates machine learning, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and multi-scale modeling to study diseases such as aortic aneurysms, pulmonary hypertension, and cerebrovascular disorders.
