Cédric Pradalier is an Associate Professor at Georgia Tech Lorraine, part of the Georgia Institute of Technology system, since September 2012. He serves as the coordinator of the H2020 BugWright2 project and is affiliated with the College of Computing and School of Interactive Computing at Georgia Tech’s main campus. His research focuses on autonomous mobile systems for long-term operations in dynamic environments.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Autonomous Navigation from National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble (INPG), 2004
- Ingénieur degree from National Engineering School for Computer Science and Applied Math in Grenoble (ENSIMAG)
- Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) from National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (INPT), 2015
Research Interests span autonomy, mobile robotics, environmental monitoring, and robotics software development. He has worked on autonomous boats, space rovers, and industrial robots, emphasizing long-term spatio-temporal operations.
Professional Experience includes leadership roles in the Autonomous Systems Lab at ETH Zürich (2007-2012) and research scientist positions at CSIRO Australia (2004-2007). He co-founded Skybotix, an ETH start-up, and contributes to projects like H2020 Flourish, PF7 Noptilus, and environmental monitoring initiatives.
Labs & Teams: He is associated with the DREAM Lab at Georgia Tech Lorraine and the Robotics and Intelligent Machines (RIM) laboratory at Georgia Tech. His work bridges CNRS robotics research with collaborative opportunities at GTL.
