معرفی
Dr. Cécile Lorrain is a Lecturer at the Department of Environmental Systems Science, ETH Zurich. Her research focuses on the evolutionary ecology of plant pathogenic fungi, particularly Zymoseptoria tritici, using multidisciplinary approaches including genomics, phenomics, and experimental evolution. She explores how pathogens adapt to environmental changes, host resistance, and fungicide applications. Her work aims to understand molecular mechanisms of adaptation and pathogen evolution in agricultural systems.
Education:
- 2019: Postdoctoral Fellow at Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology and INRA/Lorraine University
- 2018: PhD in Plant and Forest Biology from INRA/Lorraine University
- 2014: Master of Science in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Nutrition, and Environment from Lorraine University
Research Interests:
Her research integrates genomic and phenomic analyses to study fungal pathogen adaptation. Key areas include thermal adaptation, transposable element dynamics, and host-pathogen interactions. She investigates how pathogens evolve in response to climate change and human management practices, with a focus on wheat and soybean rust pathogens.
Labs & Collaborations:
Lorrain is affiliated with the Plant Pathology Group and collaborates with institutions such as the Max Planck Institute and INRA. Her work contributes to understanding global pathogen spread and developing strategies to mitigate crop diseases.
