Bárbara Porto is an Assistant Professor in Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at the University of Manitoba's Max Rady College of Medicine. Her research program investigates the mechanisms of respiratory viral infections, focusing on how pathogens like RSV and SARS-CoV-2 trigger innate immune cell death (neutrophils/macrophages) and its impact on disease progression.
