Büşra Yaman is a Lecturer at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University’s Department of Translation and Interpretation within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She previously served as a Research Assistant at İstanbul University (2016–2018) and Kırklareli University (2016–2022). Her academic journey includes teaching courses such as Introduction to Translation, Discourse and Style Analysis, and Professional English.
Her research focuses on children’s literature translation, cultural hybridity in translated texts, and the sociopolitical dimensions of translation. Notable projects include analyzing Turkish-German bilingual books for guest workers’ children and exploring LGBTQ+ representation in graphic novels like Heartstopper. She has contributed to journals like Translation and Interpreting Studies and Litera: Dil, Edebiyat ve Kültür Araştırmaları Dergisi.
Yaman has authored/co-authored books such as Çeviribilim Okumalari 4 and Akademiğ Çeviri Eğitimi, and edited volumes like Translation, Interpreting and Culture. She received the Young Translators Competition award from the Turkish Ministry of European Union and serves on the editorial board of God and Value (2024).
Her work bridges theoretical translation studies with practical applications, particularly in cultural heritage documentation and children’s literary translation. Current projects examine 1970s Turkish children’s literature and the role of translation in shaping youth cultural identity.
