Her research interests emphasize the liminal space of Afro-Arab cultures, particularly through Arabic literary narratives from East Africa. She has received the Tewfik Doss Pasha Award (2023) for her MA thesis on memory in African American and Nubian Egyptian literature. Current work includes a 2024 publication on academic boycotts and liberation in FETT - Feminist Journal.
