Burnett C. Meyer (1921–2006) was a distinguished mathematician and Professor Emeritus at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He held academic positions spanning over four decades, initially at the University of Arizona (1949–1957) before joining CU Boulder as an Assistant Professor in 1957, advancing to full Professor by 1968. His research focused on classical analysis, continued fractions, and the history of mathematics. He co-led a 40-year research seminar on analytic theory of continued fractions with prominent scholars like W.J. Thron and Arne Magnus.

Research emphasized foundational mathematical topics including capacity theory, asymptotic series, and approximation methods. Authored the textbook An Introduction to Axiomatic Systems (1974).
Active in academic governance: chaired the Undergraduate Program Committee, directed the department's honors program, and served on transfer evaluation committees. Member of Sigma Xi and president of Phi Beta Kappa's Colorado chapter (1970–1973). Fluent in French, with publications in French journals. Post-retirement, tutored immigrants in English as a second language.
